llanwydd: I love pink hotel
Cease: love in promo
Buzzy and Bunny K.: Bora DDa Llan!
llanwydd: lol bottles
Rufus_T_Firetween: That would be great, to get a fan base to petition Sony for the release of the Firesign rights
Bottles: But anything that was released thru ASCAP or BMI should be okay to use on radio, due to what stations pay for yse.
Bottles: ...regarding the PSA with ROger Miller
Buzzy and Bunny K.: right
llanwydd: closest I got to cornwall was Weston-Super-Mare
DJTweeny: I'll email Phil & David johan
llanwydd: a seaside resort town. I spent the summer of 1984 there
Buzzy and Bunny K.: But I could not make a pro bono piece using the melody.
Bottles: I wanna get to Cornwall someday. My ancestors were tin miners there
Bottles: Then when tim became cheaper in Africa or somewhere, they moved to Wales to mine coal
johan amadeus myjetski: just watch some episodes of Doc Martin - that's Cornwall
Buzzy and Bunny K.: Wales was mostly slate mining

llanwydd: his final british film before he moved to hollywoos
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Surrounded by a thin thin thin 16mm shell. And inside, it's delicious!"
llanwydd: hollywood
Bottles: I read Hitchcock was ready to move to the US, but he owed one more pic in England, so he whipped out Jamaica Inn]
Bottles: ...really quickly, and the ratings reflected it. I thought it was fun tho.
Bottles: And the Pirates of Penzance, I think that mighta been Cornwall
johan amadeus myjetski: actually not a bad film , but prefer 'the Lady Vanishes'
llanwydd: great film
llanwydd: but his best british film was the 39 steps
Bottles: Is that the one about the elderly lady on the train?]
Cease: never a fan of hitchcock
Bottles: ...meaning the Lady Vanishes.
johan amadeus myjetski: yes bottles.

Buzzy and Bunny K.: haha!
johan amadeus myjetski: my best Hitch list has a 3-way tie for the top position: North by Northwest, To Catch a Thief, & Rear Window. plus Shadow of a Doubt
Buzzy and Bunny K.: I thought it was fear of green diseases
Rufus_T_Firetween: Rear Window is really good
Beet: My second fave.
llanwydd: shadow was hitchcocks favorite of his films
Rufus_T_Firetween: The guy who went on to play Perry Mason as the bad guy
Bottles: Raymond Burr
Rufus_T_Firetween: Raymond Burr

Bottles: You don't mean...Raymond Burr??
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "I see you are a sailor."
Buzzy and Bunny K.: I noticed he made some other flics where he was crippled, as in Ironside. so maybe he really was?
Beet: There's a movie called Hitchcock?
Rufus_T_Firetween: Anthony Hopkins did an amazing job as Hitchcock, and Helen Mirren as his wife
johan amadeus myjetski: i hope they're watching. they'll see. and they'll say 'why she wouldn't even hurt a fly..."
Beet: cool
Buzzy and Bunny K.: That's funny, the hottest babe in Britain as Hitchcock's wife.

Bottles: Read Lolita, but somehow I never saw the movie.
johan amadeus myjetski: Lolita is Kubrick, not Hitch
Buzzy and Bunny K.: The novel changed his life, added wealth
Bottles: Yeah, but it sure got him in a lot of trouble!
Buzzy and Bunny K.: Sunspots CAN be heard as interference on SW radio
Bottles: Is there bigtime sunspots going on?
johan amadeus myjetski: no, that was roman polanski who said, "well, she was a woman to me"
Buzzy and Bunny K.: I wonder what Nabokov's wife thought of the book?
Buzzy and Bunny K.: Great, JAM
Bottles: Yeah, but Lolita made people think Nabakov was maybe a pedophile.

||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "I had to think for a minute ... what cruel game was he playing?"
Not Ed: I've heard that Botts true?
Not Ed: indian food is deeeelish
llanwydd: sure is
Bottles: I've heard that said about Hendrix's manager killed him
Not Ed: this is a riot
llanwydd: yean and brian jones and tpacs of sugar
Cease: glad maron turned me on to this guy
llanwydd: maro glace?
Bottles: Now that I think about it, the Doors had just made LA Woman, which was great. The idea that They were out of good songs doesn't make much sense.
johan amadeus myjetski: the king became ill after six helpings of maroon glace'. maroon glace' will no longer be served at court...
llanwydd: the doors could write a song in their sleep
llanwydd: and probably did
Merlyn: stiff
johan amadeus myjetski: i agree, bottles, but that rumor went around & around at the time of JM's death
llanwydd: I think he beat his wife one too many times and she killed him
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Listen/Download Cat’s collage “NOTHING BUT PEOPLE OF INDIAN ANCESTRY” at >> http://kurtericson.net/cat/#COLLAGES
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Get on it and do it every day!"
Bottles: People also said he faked his death in the bathtub in Paris like Marat
llanwydd: marat faked his death?
Not Ed: Let's eat.
llanwydd: I had pia
Rufus_T_Firetween: I had a chance to intern with Jimi's last concert soundman in a recording studio in D.C. He said that Jimi's drug use was getting so bad towards the end that they were basically wheeling him in and out of the limo to get to the stage.
llanwydd: pizza
||||||||| With a theatrical clearing of his throat, Catherwood announces: "8:00 PM and late as usual, it's Zooky, just back from Hellmouth."
Bottles: HA! No, but he got stabbed to death in the bathtub in Paris.
llanwydd: Hey Zook
Rufus_T_Firetween: Hi Zooky
Not Ed: ugh that sounds awful Ruf how sad
Not Ed: Zooky Zooky
johan amadeus myjetski: gad Zooks!
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Listen/Download Cat’s collage “NOTHING BUT PEOPLE OF INDIAN ANCESTRY” at >> http://kurtericson.net/cat/#COLLAGES
Bottles: Most of their concerts got cancelled because of his indecency case. So they couldn't tour.
Rufus_T_Firetween: Morrison exposed himself to an audience in Florida, right?
Not Ed: oh man I really don't know the details
johan amadeus myjetski: i will confess,i was not, & am not today, a Doors fan
llanwydd: I doubt it
Bottles: That's what was said by cops, but Robbie Krieger said he pretended to, but didn't
Not Ed: not a doors fan either but played lots in cover bands back then
johan amadeus myjetski: yes, exposing himself. whipped it right out, as Frank Zappa would have said
llanwydd: not a doors fan either
Not Ed: probably not a good idea
Bottles: I liked the Doors
llanwydd: Ive walked through a few
Not Ed: I do like the keyboard feller Ray -he's pretty amazing
Not Ed: lol llan
Bottles: But whipping it out in Florida - how dumb! Unless he was too smashed to know what he was doing.
johan amadeus myjetski: i was surprised how many soldiers & marines in vietnam were Doors fans
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "There's one crawling up my leg!"
llanwydd: probably not true, jam
Not Ed: if you've ever tried to play his parts ,,,,his playing will humble you right quick
Not Ed: (Ray / Doors)
johan amadeus myjetski: it was hard to determine the truth back then, a half century later, it's all but inpossible
llanwydd: after he died they want on as the Floors
llanwydd: went
Bottles: It doesn't matter now anyway.
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "Let me hear it for me!"
johan amadeus myjetski: you're right, Not, about Ray M's musicianship - top notch!
llanwydd: whatis ron with misperring tonit
johan amadeus myjetski: they never had a bassist, Ray M. did the bass parts with his left hand.
Bottles: Yeah, he was great, playing bass the whole time even.
llanwydd: I did like krieger for playing without a pick, which is how I do it myself
Not Ed: Right on JAM seriously amazing and very difficult!
Bottles: I quit using a pick too, due to arthritis, it hurt to hold one.
Bottles: Jeff Beck quit using a pick, to be more versatile I heard.
Bottles: Robbie played flamenco before the Doors, and Jorma played finger picking style too.
johan amadeus myjetski: nite all! see you all hopefully next firetime same firestation!
Not Ed: cool
Not Ed: hey JAM take good care
Bottles: Adios Johan.
Cease: by jammy
Bottles: Radio play at https://kkrn.org/broadcasts/4795 tonight.
Bottles: My first play Soldier Girl
Cease: great play
Bottles: Thanx Cease
llanwydd: nite jam
llanwydd: I will look for the link tomorrow, bottles. I am not likely to stay awake much longer tonight
Bottles: Can they say that on radio?

Rufus_T_Firetween: from David about the ols albums:
Rufus_T_Firetween: *old
Rufus_T_Firetween: We’re working on that, Kurt - no company would “give” the rights back - we can either negotiate to get the master tapes back to us (but that’s really complicated), or work with Sony to reissue the originals with extras. That would likely be more profitable. At present, because of streaming, royalties are at a minimum. We are right now working to reissue the Box of Danger (4 hours) as a download to keep it in print. We’re also deep into “Ulysses vs. Giant Tacos From Outer Space” - the book with two feature scripts (O&A’s “Saucer”), the original Zachariah script, “EAT” and so much more. The terrific Bruce Snyder is doing pictures. We LOVE the fans! I wish we were out among ‘em again! Here on Honeymoon Bay we are in the midst of producing a major Radio Movie, but I can’t say much more
Cease: good reply
Cease: see you next week
Merlyn: Nite all
Bottles: It seems like their 50th anniversary would be a good reason for Sony to re-release their old stuff.
Deputy Dang: Most enjoyable! My apologies for not chatting much (hardly at all). I hope to be here more next week!
||||||||| Catherwood interjects: "I only lie, or I tell the truth. Heh - just lyin'."
Not Ed: happy trails!
Bottles: Good night and thanks, Kurt, Cat and Merlyn.
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Thanks for listening, all… See you next week, same Firetime, same Firestation…
Not Ed: tanx alls & hugs
Bottles: Love this song.
||||||||| "8:00 PM? I'm late!" exclaims Bottles, who then scurries out through the french doors and down through the brambles.
||||||||| At 8:00 PM, Deputy Dang vanishes mysteriously -- just as Nino the Mind Boggler predicted!
||||||||| Merlyn leaves at 8:00 PM, singing "Oh, I'm just a little fishy, floating in the sea, and there ain't no hook that's smart enough to catch the likes of me..."
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 1 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
||||||||| It's 1:00 AM, and that means it's time to play BEAT THE REAPER! And here's how our contestants did:
