Cease: HI Tween
DJTweeny: Hi Cease
Cease: What did you play last week?
DJTweeny: A Valentine's Day show with Bride, Further Adventures, School For Actors
Cease: good stuff
DJTweeny: Yeah, people really enjoyed Bride
DJTweeny: Their 'swan song', as it were
Cease: i forgot it was valentine's day. the restaurant I was at when I tried to enter chat had changed their menu and it was terrible
Rufus_T_Firetween: sorry to hear
Cease: Valentine's Day special. Now I know never to go to Vegas on Valentine's
||||||||| Outside, the 8:57 PM uptown bus from Virginia pulls away, leaving Beet coughing in a cloud of diesel fumes.
Beet: Evening fellow chatters.
Cease: Hi Beet
DJTweeny: Hi Beet
Cease: Most of the things I ate were really good, which is why I go there.
Beet: Hey, Dr.s Cease and Tween
DJTweeny: I assume you will write a scathing review for your blog?
Beet: It was nice to see you pop up last week Cease.
Cease: It takes a while but I promised the restaurants I'd have the blog done by March 1st.
DJTweeny: Do you generally visit the same places when you go to Vegas?
Cease: Firesign simulcast at 6? What's this?
Cease: Some old, some new.

Cease: New places always opening.
DJTweeny: Yeah, I'll bet
Cease: They hope you do.
Beet: Are there one-armed bandits in the restaurants?
Cease: Most restaurants are in hotels, which are full of slots
Cease: Yeah, I'll have to buy that from the download store.
||||||||| Catherwood enters with piercedwater close behind, grumbles something about disrupting his 9:02 PM tree-stunting plans, and rushes off to the anteroom.
Beet: Ever see anyone win anything?

DJTweeny: Hi piercedwater
Cease: Hi pierce
piercedwater: hey
Cease: I used this in last year's Vegas collage trilogy.
DJTweeny: I thought people would lik to hear the whole thing. It's been very long timew since I played it in its entirety
piercedwater: internet radio is cool
DJTweeny: yes it is :)
Cease: Their most food centric piece
DJTweeny: first time here, piercedwater?
piercedwater: yes! :)
Beet: This album is a great collection and display of a variety of creations.
DJTweeny: That it is
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Read about “ALL THINGS FIRESIGN” at >> https://firesigntheatrelegacy.com/media/media.php?item=atf-ln
Cease: welcome
DJTweeny: We do this every Thursday...
DJTweeny: Are you a Firesign fan from the old days, piercedwater?
piercedwater: ok, i saved the stream url in my player
Cease: My feast festival began with a tiny piece of duck.
piercedwater: i have no idea what firesign is, about to click the about link
Beet: Nice to have you, pierced. Welcome.
||||||||| Ralph Spoilsport drives in through the door and says "Buy a new or used T-shirt from the Firesign Theatre Cafepress store! Hurry before this sentence ends!"
piercedwater: man, i love these old time shows. one of my favs is on a local station about cars. they mix comedy with questions
Cease: Firesign has been making people laugh on the radio since the 60s
piercedwater: hehehee "eminem STUPID"
Beet: Bill Maher is too rich to be a progressive these days.
DJTweeny: NPR's Car Talk, piercedwater?
piercedwater: i agree
piercedwater: DJ, no, its an AM station locally
piercedwater: D/FW area
DJTweeny: The Firesign Theatre - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Firesign_Theatre
DJTweeny: Here's their web site - http://www.firesigntheatrelegacy.com/
Beet: "Cheese" equals Limbaugh
piercedwater: this is comedy when you didn't have to worry about what feelings were involved
piercedwater: just laugh have a good time
Beet: Hardly ever a more creative group of four people anywhere. My humble opinion.
piercedwater: whats the diff between the stream link in chat and the one on their website
piercedwater: diff content i know, but just curious
Cease: this is life, website is set
Cease: live
DJTweeny: The one on their web site is a 24/7 pre-recorded show
piercedwater: ah ok cool
||||||||| Gusts of wind blow in from outside and the thumpa-thumpa-thumpa of helicopter blades is heard as Happy Panditt's chopper lands on the lawn and Ur O'Boorus gets out at 9:14 PM.
DJTweeny: Yeah, this is a live simulcast for the chat every Thursday night
DJTweeny: Hi Ur
Cease: DJ Tween is actually being a DJ now
Cease: Ur
piercedwater: lol
Beet: Hey Ur
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Check out the new live concert collection “THE FIGHTING CLOWNS OF HOLLYWOOD” at Firesign's new Download Store >> https://firesigntheatre.bandcamp.com/releases
Ur O'Boorus: Hi all
DJTweeny: Firesign fan, Ur?
Ur O'Boorus: Let me check -- did I remember to carry the bum? Good! The answer --
DJTweeny: I'll take it hat's a yes lol
DJTweeny: *that's
Beet: You have stated the secret phrase. Congratulations.
Ur O'Boorus: As long as I'm Not Responsible sounds great
||||||||| "9:20 PM? 9:20 PM!!" says Catherwood, "SidFudd should be here by now...oh, THERE you are!" as SidFudd enters and sits on the divan.
SidFudd: Hi everyone - I hope everyone's bought the new thing
Beet: Hey sid
DJTweeny: Hi Sid
DJTweeny: Just posted a link
Cease: Will soon, Sid.
DJTweeny: Just downloaded what you sent me yesterday. Will be doing promos starting next week
Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Check out the new live concert collection “THE FIGHTING CLOWNS OF HOLLYWOOD” at Firesign's new Download Store >> https://firesigntheatre.bandcamp.com/releases
SidFudd: I just have 44 more reissues to do, or something
DJTweeny: Is that all...
Cease: Thankfully, you're still young, Fudd
SidFudd: Just curious, what out-of-print or never-released Firesign goodies would you buy if only they were available to buy?
DJTweeny: Pink Hotel comes to mind as something people would like to have
Beet: I love the product descriptions. Infinite strings of adjectives.
SidFudd: ah, interesting - Pink Hotel is a wonderful thing but it's an odds-and-sods collection and...
SidFudd: ...we're slowly picking it apart as the bits and pieces on it are being incorporated into other reissues
Cease: You mean the whole group or solos? I'd love to hear Peter's solo shows
Ur O'Boorus: Forward into the past dear friends! Must I now to ye freeway, which is already in progress
SidFudd: ...like for instance this year we want to put out a 7" record with all 8 of the Jack Poet radio commercials on it
Cease: Come again, UR
||||||||| Ralph Spoilsport drives in through the door and says "Buy a new or used T-shirt from the Firesign Theatre Cafepress store! Hurry before this sentence ends!"
Beet: See ya Ur
Cease: i think they've been released sufficiently, fudd.
SidFudd: Regarding Peter's solo shows, we do have a video copy of "Get Me Out Of This Head" now - you can bet that'll end up on a DVD at some point
Cease: great
Cease: krassner told me he had a vhs copy of the show he did with bergman and harry shearer. would love to see that
Beet: I just found a newspaper clipping from when Ossman had his NPR radio show based in D. C.
Cease: There are a lot of iterations of Radio Free Oz
DJTweeny: Don't know that I've ever heard that Beet
Cease: Not me
Beet: It was very odd hearing a Firesign with a conventional radio show.
Cease: I think Austin had that Hollywood Nightshift show for at least 2 years
SidFudd: If you want a Hollywood Nite Shift box set, ladies & gents, you've got to make a list of any and all airchecks you have and send it to me...I've got a lot, but I'd hate to miss anything
Cease: You have all of mine, Sid. I got them from Packer on reels
Beet: I recently heard (I think it was here) that it was Ossman's leaving to do that show that brought the quartet to an end.
Cease: Used this on my vegas trilogy too.
Cease: you should buy his book, beet. he talks about his life in Great Detail
Cease: the book that is the companion to the new download thing
Beet: Good idea. Got a link?
SidFudd: http://www.bearmanormedia.com/fighting-clowns-of-hollywood-a-memoir-softcover-edition-by-david-ossman?search=ossman

||||||||| Catherwood ushers Merlyn inside, makes a note of the time (9:40 PM), then fades off into the distance going on about the waiting room or the sitting room or something.
Merlyn: hey
SidFudd: yo
Merlyn: daylight come and me wanna go home
Beet: Hey Merlyn
Cease: Meryl
DJTweeny: Yo Merlyn

Rufus_T_Firetween: ** THE PROCTOR PODCAST - From the mind, and life, of comedy great Phil Proctor >> http://theproctorpodcast.podbean.com/
Beet: Remember Blockbuster?
Merlyn: Do you mean Shoplifers? "Shoplifters, you're getting away with value..."
SidFudd: Sportsfans please note that on yesterday's edition of his WFMU show, Irwin Chusid interviewed DP Carlson about his Joe Frank Documentary: http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/84254
Beet: This banned from being broadcast
DJTweeny: SidFudd, what would you think about putting up a smal ad for the Firesign Chat at the new store? We've been trying to figure out ways to get more people into the chat.
Cease: Not to mention my 14-part collage collection of Phil's autobiography Plus
Cease: now the podcast is an audiobook, right?
SidFudd: DJTweeny - you mean at FiresignTheatre.com or at BandCamp?
Rufus_T_Firetween: Well both maybe. A small ad on the FST home page could be useful.
Merlyn: Doc has been absent, I have to figure out how to add an ad
Cease: He must be busy with work.
Beet: Santa with throat cancer?
Merlyn: Doc hasn't been answering email for like 3+ weeks
Merlyn: I don't know what's up
||||||||| Catherwood enters the room, strikes a gong, and bellows "THE TIME IN NEW YORK IS 10 O'CLOCK", then silently exits.
DJTweeny: Last time he was in here, he was talking about working 12-16 hour days
DJTweeny: Must be caught up in some project
Beet: Fun

Beet: Great stuff
Cease: It was a natural combining Harland with Firesign but I had to wait until his death to do it.
Merlyn: Technical error in "The Adventure of the Speckled Band" -- snakes are deaf
Cease: I thought they hear with their tongues
Beet: They sense the heat given off by their prey.
Rufus_T_Firetween: snakes make very bad musicians

Rufus_T_Firetween: ** Check out CAT'S BLOG at >> http://seemrealland.blogspot.ca/
Beet: I just checked about snakes' tongues. It's sort of smelling where it collects chemicals then deposits them in receptors which tell the snake many things about its environment.
Beet: Did I just suck all of the air out of the room?
Rufus_T_Firetween: lol
Cease: i'm dealing with a different brand of air.
Merlyn: No, the snakes did
Rufus_T_Firetween: heh
Rufus_T_Firetween: Fun stuff, Cat :)
Beet: I don't know this song.
DJTweeny: I don't recognize this Beatles tune
Cease: when not being assaulted by rain and snow, i occasaionally smelled something i didnt expect to smell walking down streets and hotel corridors in vegas
Beet: Very unusual.
Cease: htis was what was played on KRLA as an intermission for the Firesign's By the Light of the Silvery. Shitty song, but historial
Rufus_T_Firetween: Snow in Vegas?
Cease: you can see it noted in the script in the plays book.
Cease: so played intentionally
Beet: Hey that was great.
