Working from some old black and white Republic serials from the '30s and '40s, Proctor & Bergman edited and re-dubbed them in 1979 to create the hilarious pastiche J-Men Forever. They added connecting segments where Bergman plays The Chief and Proctor plays Agent Barton, J-Men who work in cooperation with the F.C.C. (Federal Culture Control). They lock horns with uber-villain Lightning Bug, embodied by garish villains from several different serials, who attempts to take over the world with rock'n'roll (adding sex and drugs when the music alone doesn't work). To battle the Lightning Bug, J-Men use "Muzac" (created by M.U.S.A.C., the Military Underground Sugared Airwaves Command). Later, they deploy a bomb to blow up Lightning Bug's base on the Moon (Lightning Bug beats them to it, by turning his stereo up too loud).
